Dorodango & Collaborative Art Installation - Karma Tenrab
A session combining Dorodango the Japanese art of crafting shiny mud spheres along with a collaborative earth-based installation created together with participants over the three days. This meditative, collective process celebrates patience, transformation, and connection through natural materials and shared creativity.
Founded in 2008 by husband-and-wife duo Sangay and Karma, Studio Zeyma is one of the first art studios in Sikkim.
The word Zeyma means “seed” in Lhokay — a symbol of beginnings, growth, and potential, reminding us that everything starts small and flourishes with care and intention. The studio brings together pottery, handmade organic lamps, art exhibitions, and music sessions, nurturing creativity and connection through art, nature, and community.
No charges. All levels welcome. Materials will be provided. Kid Friendly. Time will be shared later.

Clay & Pottery Workshop - Sangay Palden
An immersive, hands-on session introducing participants to pottery through hand-building and the pottery wheel. Sangay invites participants to explore clay freely and create whatever they feel inspired to make, while discovering the joy and calm that comes from working with their hands.

Ushimi Linggi
Join Ushimi Linggi once again at the Kholey Dai Festival 2025 for a hands-on Soap & Candle Making Workshop where creativity meets community and mindful living.
Learn to make natural, eco-friendly soaps and candles while exploring how simple skills can inspire sustainable livelihoods and strengthen local economies. These workshops are rooted in Kholey Dai’s spirit of grassroots empowerment, encouraging learning, sharing, and growth within our communities.
We’re deeply grateful to Ushimi for returning to Kholey Dai and continuing to share her knowledge with the people of Parengtar and beyond.

As part of the Kholey Dai Festival, Zami A Rokhum invites festival participants to step into practices that ground and reconnect through movement, breath, and presence.
Zami will guide gentle yoga flows accessible to all levels, and a partnered yoga workshop designed to foster trust and connection through collaborative movement. Whether with friends, family, or new connections made at the festival, these sessions celebrate moving and breathing together.
Beyond the mat, Zami brings the art of LED poi spinning, a flow practice rooted in Maori tradition that merges dance, rhythm, and light into mesmerizing performance.
Rooted in Kholey Dai’s spirit of community and connection, these offerings create space to slow down, feel present, and move with intention.

Come explore their incredible world, understand their vital role in farming and biodiversity, and taste the sweetness of sustainable living.

Thangka Painting - Mingma Dorjee Bhutia
The creation of a Thangka is both a spiritual practice and a disciplined art. In this workshop, participants will go through the key stages of the process, from preparing the canvas to sketching sacred forms and learning colour application.

Kholey Dai Exhibition - OOO Farms, Grounded Futures, Confluence Collective, Smriti Sharma
About the Exhibition
This year’s exhibition brings together the story of Kholey, the harvest, and the ongoing work by OOO Farms to revive indigenous seeds in Parengtar village. With a display of over 100 seed varieties, seasonal food mapping, and memories of foraging, the space reveals how deeply Kholey Dai is woven into the rhythm of rice harvesting and the people who shape it.
Through audio, visuals, and photo storytelling, the exhibition captures intimate moments from the fields, the rituals that bind the community, and the everyday presence of rice in village life.
A rare seed collection showcases the diversity of rice across the Himalayan belt, highlighting how different species have adapted and evolved through time, terrain, and tradition.
Visitors are invited to explore seasonal food knowledge, learn about community farming practices, and reflect on personal and collective memories of foraging. Share a story, a taste, or a moment , your contributions will become part of a living record of the region’s food traditions for the community and future generations.

Boot Camp on Music Rights - IPRS
At Kholey Dai Festival, IPRS will host an exclusive Artist Bootcamp for all performers, guiding them through music copyright, artist rights, digital platforms, and how royalties and revenue work in today's music industry.
They will also help artists understand the importance of protecting their work and offer support for IPRS registrationduring the festival.
IPRS (Indian Performing Right Society) is India’s official copyright society for music creators, representing lyricists, composers, and publishers.
They ensure artists receive fair royalties whenever their music is performed, streamed, broadcast, or used commercially, while safeguarding creators’ rights across the music ecosystem.
They will also help artists understand the importance of protecting their work and offer support for IPRS registrationduring the festival.
