Pottery and Dorodango -
Studio Zelma
As part of Kholey Dai Festival, this workshop invites participants to explore creativity through pottery and Dorodango.
Over three days, participants will engage in hands-on pottery sessions, experimenting with hand-building and the pottery wheel to create personal clay pieces. Parallelly, the Dorodango workshops introduce the Japanese art of crafting shiny mud spheres, inviting meditative focus, patience, and playful experimentation.
Together, participants can come together and contribute to a collaborative earth-based installation, a shared work of art that celebrates transformation, connection, and creativity through natural materials.
These sessions nurture calm, mindfulness, and community, reflecting Kholey Dai’s ethos of grassroots engagement and artistic collaboration.

Soap & Candle Making -
Ushimi Linggi
Join Ushimi Linggi once again at the Kholey Dai Festival 2025 for a hands-on Soap & Candle Making Workshop where creativity meets community and mindful living.
Learn to make natural, eco-friendly soaps and candles while exploring how simple skills can inspire sustainable livelihoods and strengthen local economies. These workshops are rooted in Kholey Dai’s spirit of grassroots empowerment, encouraging learning, sharing, and growth within our communities.
We’re deeply grateful to Ushimi for returning to Kholey Dai and continuing to share her knowledge with the people of Parengtar and beyond.

Bee Keeping - Suman Lama
After last year’s super successful workshop where participants from across India enjoyed an unforgettable hands-on experience we’re bringing it back to the Kholey Dai Festival!
Join us for a fun and interactive Apiculture Workshop, where you’ll learn the fascinating art of beekeeping from setting up a hive to harvesting your own honey!
Did you know a single honeybee visits over 50,000 flowers a day to make just one teaspoon of honey? Beyond honey, bees are essential to agriculture helping pollinate nearly one-third of the food we eat, from fruits to grains. Come explore their incredible world, understand their vital role in farming and biodiversity, and taste the sweetness of sustainable living.

As part of the Kholey Dai Festival, Zami A Rokhum invites festival participants to step into practices that ground and reconnect — through movement, breath, and presence.
Zami will guide gentle yoga flows accessible to all levels, and a partnered yoga workshop designed to foster trust and connection through collaborative movement. Whether with friends, family, or new connections made at the festival, these sessions celebrate moving and breathing together.
Beyond the mat, Zami brings the art of LED poi spinning — a flow practice rooted in Maori tradition that merges dance, rhythm, and light into mesmerizing performance.
Rooted in Kholey Dai’s spirit of community and connection, these offerings create space to slow down, feel present, and move with intention.

Thangka Painting - Mingma Dorjee Bhutia
The creation of a Thangka is both a spiritual practice and a disciplined art. In this workshop, participants will go through the key stages of the process, from preparing the canvas to sketching sacred forms and learning colour application.
